Service Scholarship Opportunity

Spring has sprung and so has scholarship season. The Bower Foundation is once again offering $500.00 scholarships to graduating seniors who exhibit exemplary community service efforts and who have accumulated over 150 community service hours. This is the third year that the foundation is recognizing students who have gone above and beyond to create change in their communities. To be eligible for the scholarship award, applicants need to be graduating seniors from one of the Bower sisters' alma maters: Braden River High School, Lakewood High School, and Lakewood Ranch High School.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. Be a resident of Manatee County.

(Lakewood High School applicants must be a resident of Pinellas County.)

2. Have earned a minimum of 150 verified community service hours.

(Proof of verified hours will be required with application.)

3. Plan to attend an accredited, post-secondary institution. Must include current proof of enrollment.

(Enrollment verification letter, acceptance letter, course registration for upcoming semester, etc.)

4. Submit a one-page, typed essay on how community service has personally helped make a difference in

their life and the importance of youth getting involved in their own communities.

The Bower Foundation is committed to serving others and addressing unmet needs, which is why it is passionate about supporting youth who have given their time and talents to make a difference locally and/or globally.
